SO MUCH FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee has a waiting list of students anxious toRon Davis Director of Aviation Gordon Cooper Technology Center enroll in aviation maintenance technology, an 18-month program certified and approved by the Federal Aviation Administration for airframe and power-plant training.

Students receive the basics in aviation maintenance technology in order to service, repair and overhaul various components and systems, including electrical, hydraulic and fuel.

Ron, where were you when we needed your help on our projects? You were always on the PC watching Rush Limbaugh, in the lounge or office, or on the phone to Oklahoma Jet Works. You know, your other job that distracts you from your teaching job? Occasionally bragging to the class about your healthy six figure income jobs?

"Tinker Air Force base is the biggest employer in the state and the biggest aviation employer in the state, and they have a tremendous need," says Ron Davis, Slacker Director of Aviation at Gordon Cooper. "When you have 9,000 mechanics at Tinker, you'll have many who are retiring. Backfilling that need at Tinker is what we've been doing for 10 years now. The AAR at Will Rogers Airport also services the Boeing 737s, the MD-80s and the CR-Js, so they also have a need for educated mechanics there."

Ron Davis knows full well that he's not turning out "educated mechanics" fit for General Aviation and that the contractors will provide the specialized training needed for the individual employee. All they need is the FAA 'certificate' earned from many-many clock hours of book study and sheer boredom. What kind of technical education is that? Where were you when we were teaching ourselves aircraft inspections? Hmmm?

Students from the program intern at Tinker or at the AAR, and Davis says the demand is increasing.

Some of us didn't come to school to work for Tinker or AAR. We came to get an Education in General Aviation Maintenance, not sit around the classroom and halls all day, just drawing our FAA time, shooting the breeze, wondering if we are going to get to do anything from day to day, wondering if you're in the mood to help us do anything, occasionaly entering the class, just to scream "read people, study people!". It was you're interest in Yourself and your lack of interest in your students that I stopped going to GCTC. The Gordon Cooper Rules are

No tobacco, No internet and No cell phone.

Try applying these 3 basic rules to Yourself, you hypocrite! Ron Davis Fuɔk You And Happy Blogging!
